The beaches of Rio are not just beautiful they have character. Same goes for its people- their spirit is amazing..amazing are also the famous Caipirinhas.

Brasil should be a destination on the list of each traveler. A place full of magic and joy. I had the opportunity to visit Brasil during the world cup in 2014 which was incrdeible.
To experience a world cup is amazing but to experience it in Brasil is matchless.
We lived at Barao da Torre street, a lively street with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. There is a place for everyone posh restaurants but also tiny economic and cosy places.
To stay at Ipanema is really desirable for many tourists. The beaches are large with nice white sand..and all is so clean. But the best is the view at the rocks which surround the beaches. There are tiny premises at the beach which offer chairs and sunshades for rent which costs not more then 4 $ a day. The best about those places where the caipirinhas. you can decide betwenn kiwi, lemon, strawberry or passionfruit caipis which were served at your chair directly at the beach...priceless!!!! I never had better Caipis... If you visit Brasil, you have to visit Ipanema.you should go to he premise "9" there you will find the place calles "Denise" rellay nice people..and as Isaid they offer the best Caipis in the world. The drinks cost around 3.50 $ which is amzing for the quality you get.

Really funny are the "walking biki shops" at the beach. Peple with guge sunshades where hundreds of bikins are diplayed for sale. Here you have a picture to get an idea.
At ipanema beach you had lots of tiny restaurants where you can get the menu of the day for around 7 $.
People are really nice, always with a smile on their face and willing to help. Next to Ipanema after a 20 minutes walk you reach Copacabana where it is really crowded and far more turistic because you have a view at the famous sugar loaf mountain . This is of course impressive but I would always prefer Ipanema.
During the World Cup there was security at every corner so you could walk around with your camera with fear of being robbed. Of course you hear stories of tourist being robbed but I think this is the same in whole latin America. But as I said we felt save because of so much securiy during the world cup-- every day live is surely different.
If you like meat you have to go to the place called Fogo de Chão: Here you get amazing quality of meat cut into slices directly at your table you can decide between 7 different types of meat or you try all of it. Beside this you have a buffet with various side dishes, salads, sea food. The place is amazing but also expensive because of its high qualiy meat but it `s worth it.

We also visited the Christo statue ..unfortunately we visited Christo on a cloudy day but the view you have is amazing.
You reach this palce going by bus to to th entrance of the place and then you go "up"taking a tiny train. The ticket price is aprox. 20$ per Person and include the train to the top.
The best is to watch the sunset from the top of sugar loaf mountain...which costs aprox. 15$ p.P. I would recommend to go up before the sunset starts..so you have different lights and when the sun has set..all the city lights come uo which is magical. The are like two levels before you reach the top. There are often large queues..but it is woth waiting and beining patient. The view with all the lights suddenly lashing is incredible.
Some tourists visit the fabelas also- which is risky.
Don`t forget to take a surf lesson in Rio- the price for one lesson is 15$ per lesson.
If you are a soccer fan...Joga Bonito with locals at Ipanema or Copacabana beach..there is nothing more typical..and so much fun...
